Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu in March 2015. The Government of Vanuatu worked with the World Bank and the Humanitarian UAV Network (UAViators), and the flights were carried out by the operators Heliwest and X-Craft.
According to Development Seed, drone imagery was collected over more than 30 areas of the islands to support damage assessment. The Government of Vanuatu later made the imagery public through OpenAerialMap, with Development Seed importing it.
